What country are you based in? Where do you ship from?

We are based in the United States and ship orders from New York.

Do you take international orders?

We accept orders from over 180 countries—all that are permitted by the USPS. Orders can be placed directly through our website. If your country is not available, please contact us as it may be an error.

We encourage you to research the import regulations of your country, as we do not accept liability for packages held or delayed by customs. Please note that we do not provide phytosanitary certificates.

What are my payment options?

We accept PayPal and debit or credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

How do you calculate shipping and handling?

Shipping charges are added to your order during checkout. Domestic orders are shipped using USPS Priority Mail or USPS First-Class Mail (orders above 16 ounces will automatically be Priority Mail). International orders are shipped using USPS First-Class Mail International.

What is the delivery time?

Orders are shipped within one business day. We do not guarantee delivery time, but these are the estimated shipping times by service.

USPS First-Class Mail: 1 to 3 business days

USPS Priority Mail: 1 to 3 business days

USPS First-Class Mail International: 7 to 21 days

How many seeds are in a sample packet?

This varies depending on species and germination rates, but enough are included to give at least one successful germination. We cannot unconditionally guarantee their performance because of the number of factors that can affect germination once a seed is sown.

How do I get my seeds to germinate?

Germination instructions are included with every order. We perform germination tests on all of our species, but if you experience germination problems and believe it is due to viability, please contact us. We encourage your feedback.

Will these species grow where I live?

Most of our species are from Equatorial Africa and require warmer climates. We assign a USDA Plant Hardiness Zone to species in their descriptions when the information is available. To find which zone you live in, please refer to this map and enter your area code in the top-left corner. This is not the only criterion for determining viability; the onus is on you to replicate the wild conditions.

What does ‘Pretreatment’ mean?

Some seed species require a treatment before sowing. The purpose of pretreatment is to break the natural dormancy of the seed, and some common methods include soaking in hot water or scarifying.
